Our Data Sources
All movie and TV show information on CinemaWorld is sourced from Wikidata — a free, open knowledge base released under the Creative Commons CC0 licence (public domain). This means the underlying data is freely usable by anyone with no restrictions.
We do not use the OMDb API, IMDb data feeds, Rotten Tomatoes, or any other proprietary data source. All titles, plots, cast information, and scores you see on CinemaWorld come from Wikidata's community-contributed, openly licensed dataset.
Poster images are generated programmatically — we do not display or store any copyrighted poster artwork.
Technology
CinemaWorld is built on ASP.NET Core 9 (C#), SQL Server, and ML.NET for recommendations, with editorial content generated via the Groq API (Llama 3). It is an independent project built with a focus on clean code and an enjoyable user experience.
We are always improving. If you have a suggestion or just want to say hello, we would love to hear from you.
